Today is a special day for us to rmb. Which I will reveal again next time 😊

Why not think about your own problems before you start blaming or finger pointing at others .

Are u always the right one? And even if you are so Right, have you put urself in other's people shoes ? Or even try to listen and absorb what others might want to say ?

Lesson learnt today: self reflection and always put urself in other's position. Not everyone shares the same mindset as you do. That's why everyone is unique !

What's going on?

;Hello bloggy.....

Just to drop by with some updates on my life lately.
So... Yup, I m back to the workforce again! And to date, I have been working for 3 weeks starting from 3 November.
How can time pass by so quickly! >_<

Many people asked me " how's life in your new work place?"

Well, all I can say is " so far so good", as I join during the Off peak holiday season whereby everyone's clearing their leaves and preparing for holidays.
But I never know what will happen when the peak period comes , which is usually from April to July of the year.

Whatever it is, I just have to make good use of these two months to familiarize, adjust and adapt to this brand new working environment.

Anyway, i  was trained in civil engineering and I am so used to looking at structural drawings and doing calculations and modeling. But here, my work requires me to read Arch. Drawings and maintenance of campus database - call archibus , I am still learning and trying to get a hang of it... Hope that when the January course comes, it will help me understand more... As there is no manual for me to read or refer to.. I learned it from my colleague and by doing own notes ...

As for colleagues, hmmm they are friendly and helpful. But I haven meet everyone yet.. So I shall not comment much. Hahaha

Yawn... It's getting late! Time to slp, will come back for more life updates again...

Good night folks!

Sharing here a picture of my new work space (:

Shhh.....

Dear Blog,

Just a simple update on my ROM.
The ceremony was on 19 OCT 2014 held at Hai tien Lou, Pan Pacific Hotel.
We booked a room in the restaurant for the ceremony. Our initial plan was to actually booked a suite in hotel, but after much considerations, we felt that having it in a restaurant is so much more convenient as we can have our meal right after the ROM.

Too bad,i was told to be low profile and to only share until my actual wedding next year... hahaha so I shall not post any of my photos on Facebook or anywhere...

But for the sake of record (I have super bad memory)  and I m not so 听话 till I wouldnt post a single photo anywhere... I will post a few photo of myself here .. =D =P

The hand bouquet that I ordered from hazel florist.

I must say their customer service is good. The manager Kenny and their staff Bee tin are nice and helpful people. When I have enquiries about the design of the flower and delivery time, they were there to help.
And yea! the bouquet was so sweet and pretty, I will definitely order from them again!

Our Marriage Certificate

My Makeup Artist- Jin Yan who helped to do my make up and Hair.
I m grateful that I have her on that day. If not, I will appeared with a lousy make up and my normal straight hairdo which is not special at all... All my friends praised on the look that she had created only bf say "Ok lor, normal... hair abit messy hor... -.-" "

Hairdo side view - the flower is from my hand bouquet

Dress and Necklace from Lisa Penny at city plaza .

I was so damn sian during the process of looking for my dress and necklace. There are a few criteria..   I was trying to find something simple in design, affordable, able to wear it again for other occasion and not cheapskate ... so after roaming around marina square, far east plaza, orchard, wedding gown boutiques in geylang, khaki bukit, tanjong pagar, I still couldn't find any good ones.....

And short gowns from wedding boutiques are sooooooo expensive as I m just looking for a dress and not signing up any packages. ENd up  my mum told me that City Plaza at geylang also have some shops selling cheap wedding gowns....

I had done some research before she recommended me... and some are not so nice reviews... so I ignored... but when I couldn't find what I wanted I think I ought to give city plaza a try...

So one day, my dad sent both my mum and I to city plaza, and we went straight to lisa penny at 2nd storey. After trying a few pieces of dress, I settled down with a simple white lace dress. Theres a ribbon around the waist area which is not shown in the photo attached...

I guessed I m already quite desperate at that point of time... so since the dress looks ok, I just buy it! haha and it cost only 89.90 SGD, which is so much cheaper that those I saw previously - ranging from 380-500 ... -.-"

I also did alteration for the dress and cost about 8 dollars? and on the day of my collection, I also bought the piece of necklace from them at 80 bucks. Its a combination of crystals and pearls which suits my heels a lot!
my gelish nails for the special day

Ok, if you know me, you will know that I seldom spend money on mani or pedicure. I only do it when it is a special occasion. The only time I did was during my elder sis's wedding and in 2013 CNY... so anyway its my ROM... How can I not have it, right??? (Nails also done at city plaza, 1st sty... cant remember the shop name... and this gelish nail cost me 76 SGD)

hahaha ok this photo focus on flower and not my heels... paiseh

I bought the heels at city plaza as well and it cost me 59 bucks. I must say its a steal, as you cant really get such prices if you buy a wedding shoes at places like orchard or far east...

our wedding band
Ok, heres our wedding band... and we got it from Love & Co. Both of us choose our own design and I m glad that he try to make the effort to wear it when we are out together(:

Present from my sisters and their partner

 musical globe from precious moments

Thank you for the gift! I can add this to my collection of musical box...

Anyway, thank you my bf  , for making it happened in such a short time ... haha, although u are short tempered but you are more patient and accommodating this time round.. And I know that you are super busy with your work recently, so its more appreciable! Muacks
To my mum, thanks for giving me ideas and helping too! ^^
Also to thank all (to both our family members) and the JP for helping  and making the ceremony a joyful and successful one! Its a happy day for me to remember (:

Series of good news ^^

Hello there!

Finally I m free again to update my blog. I have been busy with life although I m not working at all.

Well, as you can see from my post name : "Series of good news" yup, today's post will be the good things that happened within this two months.

And the first news I m going to announce to all is that, I m legally married. hahaha
My bf proposed to me in July this year during our Europe trip, and when we returned to Singapore we thought everything will be normal and life carry on till our ROM and Chinese wedding next year.

We have been looking for our future home since march this year, but couldnt find any suitable one.
However, we did saw a few nice one in July-August and after much negotiation, the deal was confirmed! And for the procedure and transaction to proceed successful, we decided to ROM first. (Shall not elaborate more on the details =P)

And the two of us were so crazy, one night my bf called and told me that we should ROM first, and two days later we got our  date for ROM, Venue, Licensed Solemnizer and etc all fixed!( if you are married , you guys will know what are the procedure are.)

So yea,we got married on 19 Oct 2014, which is 5 days ago from now. haha

Good News no 1 and 2 :
- We've got our home!
-We are Married !

I have been browsing online for jobs after I came back from my Europe and china trip in Mid august. And yea, for those who were once aimlessly looking for jobs like me, you know how dreadful it was! But I must say that I m consider quite lucky, as I received quite a few phone calls from agencies and companies two weeks after I submit my resume online.

I was quite stress during the past two months as I have been dealing with the preparation for ROM, learning driving , job seeking and also attending interviews.

Within these two months, I have attended 3 interviews with those recruitment firms, and 6 interviews and numerous calls from those insurance companies asking me to join them as one of their financial planner. I must say, those recruitment firms are wasting my time.  I got no Job interviews from them at all. and they wasted my Photographs and paper... -.-' .Out of the 6 interviews I got, only 1 of them is introduced by them.  I got the other 5 on my own.

The first interview I went which was way before my trip was an interior design company. I was considering a career switch and thought that interior design is fun and I can learn more about design since I m interested in it. But after the interview, I was told that most of the interior design firms in Singapore are more on sales based and those who sits in the office doing purely design are not being well paid and most of them are foreigners. The worst thing is that, there is no basic pay! so it means that if you cant closed a deal you will be eating air ..... so yea, I rejected the job offer and fly off for my trip.

The 2nd interview that I went to (introduced by one of the recruitment firm)  was a big construction company starting with the letter B. I have nothing bad to say about this company, management and the interviewer. The interviewer was nice enough to show me ard the company and all, however, both of us feels that what they are looking for and what I m keen of are totally different. So once again, I rejected their kind offer.

The 3rd interview was from an Authority starting with B also. I must say I m super duper nervous for this interview! When I was told that I m being shortlisted, they informed me that I m supposed to sit for a written essay test before the interview starts!
So, as u all can see,my English sucks like hell... so when I knew that I need to write, I m so panic and I started flipping newspapers and online journals..(hoping that my English will improve abit and know more about Singapore building industries) .

So the day for interview came and I proceeded to a big empty room to have my written essay. It was disastrous, the questions they asked were so technical that i don't know if those nonsense I am writing were answering to their questions.-.-"
The  interview begins after that . I must say the interview did not go well too. Perhaps I m not impressive enough for the big shot? And 3 weeks later, It was my turn to get rejected by them . >_<...

The 4th, 5th and 6th interviews I had was with NUS. My furture employer.Hehe
One of them is under campus infrastructure, 2nd is from school of design and environment(SDE) and the last was from department for Chinese language.

I missed out the one for Chinese department and the one from SDE had not get back to me(but I think most probably would not get back le!)

And yup, I got the Job offer from Campus Infrastructure(SPACE). Although all these 3 are NUS jobs, the interviews conducted were quite different. For the one in SDE, I was only there for interview with their board of directors but the one with SPACE requires me to do a written essay with informal interview and 2nd round for presentation and formal interview. It took me quite some time preparing for all these interviews and that also explained why I went MIA for the past 2 mths.

After the two interviews ( which end at 29 Sept) with SPACE, I finally got their call on 10 Oct informing me that I m being selected for the job! Hahaha I was overjoyed as I was in the midst of preparation for ROM ( like finding mua, dress, accessories, flower bouquet and etc ) and planning the a one day SG tour when bf's family come to Singapore; the job confirmation was definitely a great gift for my ROM and I m glad that I don't have to go for another interview which was being arranged and fixed earlier.

Good news no 3:
- I GOT A JOB!

The management in NUS was so kind that they knew that I had been packed in the mth of OCT and they allowed me to start work in NOV. SOYeah! I m Not jobless anymore!

I m now happy yet nervous about starting my new job. Hope everything goes well! ( pray hard)

Will be back for more updates with photos taken for my ROM and Europe trip

How to be more sociable?

A good article to share- credits to stumble upon (:

While it may seem like some people are naturally more sociable than others, the fact of the matter is that all human beings are social, and as with any other skill, it is possible to train oneself to become more social. Read on to learn how to break out of your comfort zone and improve your social life.

Realize that you’re not that big of a deal. Interestingly, shy people who feel invisible and unwanted also tend to feel like they are constantly under a spotlight, being watched and criticized by others. This strange paradox of shyness is what prevents people from feeling comfortable being themselves in front of others. This doesn’t mean that you should feel like an unimportant person, but rather, that you should acknowledge that you are your own worst critic; other people are simply too busy to constantly judge and criticize you.
  • Remember that people are so caught up in their own lives and interactions that they have little time to notice if you embarrass yourself, say something stupid, or don’t look your best. Even if they do notice, it is very unlikely that they will care very much, as they have their own issues to deal with.
  • Recognize that everybody, to some extent or another, feels exactly the same way you do. Even the most social people still feel insecure and worry about embarrassing themselves; the only difference is that they choose to take the risk and enjoy themselves rather than worrying about how others will react.

Don’t over-analyze your interactions. Over-thinking is usually what prevents people from enjoying social interaction. While it may seem difficult, it is important to break the habits of anticipating what social interactions will be like before they happen, and of overanalyzing them once they are over.

  • Rather than focusing on what may go wrong or how you may embarrass yourself, approach every new social interaction with a clean slate and a positive attitude.
  • When reflecting on past interactions, focus on the positive things rather than the negative ones. Even if it wasn’t the most eventful or exciting interaction of your life, try to identify one good experience from each interaction you have, even if it is as simple as having been able to make somebody laugh.

Be less critical. Some of the people who call themselves “antisocial,” tend to constantly criticize both themselves and those around them. They avoid social interaction because they are on the one hand afraid of being judged by others, and on the other hand (ironically) themselves extremely judgmental toward others. In order to become a more social person, it is important to accept that everybody, no matter how they may seem on the outside, has both positive and negative qualities. What separates the confident people from the insecure people is the attitude that they have toward themselves. Confident, social people tend to focus on the positive qualities of themselves and those around them, whereas unconfident, antisocial people focus on their own shortcomings and the shortcomings of the people they know.

  • Make a list of your own positive qualities. Be sure to include both internal (intellectual, emotional) and external (physical) qualities. Get in the habit of reminding yourself of these positive qualities on a daily basis, and counter each negative thought you have toward yourself with two positive ones.
  • Stop referring to yourself as shy, timid, or antisocial. The more you use these words to label yourself, the more you will reinforce the idea that you are incapable of social interaction, and as a result you will avoid seeing other people. If you want to become a more social person, you have to start by actually believing that you are and can be a social person. Remind yourself that being sociable is a choice, not a predisposition.
  • Accept that human nature is good. While there are plenty of bad people out there, it is important to accept that humans can be loving, kind, and accepting creatures. Believing this will make you look forward to meeting new people rather than avoiding it.

Be positive. Everybody wants to be around people who are optimistic, upbeat, and happy. Even if you don’t feel positive all of the time, you should at least act positive when talking to other people. For example, if somebody asks you to tell them about your life, focus on sharing the positive qualities of your life rather than complaining about the negative ones.

  • Making your life sound positive will instantly spark peoples’ interest, and they will want to hear more about you.

Get practice. Just like any other skill, being sociable requires consistency and practice in order to master. This means you will have to get out of your comfort zone and force yourself to interact with other people on a regular basis. Avoid compartmentalizing your life and separating your “social life” from the rest of your life. If you truly want to be a social person, you will have to be social in all aspects of your life, from work to school to family.

  • Get in the habit of striking up casual conversations with the people you meet on a daily basis, including bank tellers, baristas, and cashiers.
  • Spend your free time with friends, when possible. If you are the type of person who spends a lot of time partaking in a certain hobby or physical activity alone, then consider inviting a friend along next time.
  • Always accept social invitations. Avoid making excuses like being too tired, having to wake up early the next day, or feeling unattractive. While some excuses are legitimate, others are simply used to avoid interaction. Learn to differentiate between honest excuses and dishonest ones.

Watch your body language. If you are at a party or other social function, how you position your body sends a message to other people. If you want to be approached by others, you should avoid standing in the corner, crossing your arms, staring at your phone, and frowning.

  • Making eye contact with others and smiling shows them that you are friendly, open, and non-intimidating. Plus, everybody looks more attractive when they smile.

Be fully engaged. If you want to seem interesting to others, you will have to show interest in them, especially when you are in the middle of a conversation. When you are talking to somebody, listen to what they are saying rather than worrying about what you should be saying. Make eye contact, nod your head, and ask them follow-up questions.

  • Avoid constantly checking your phone or looking around you while you are in the middle of a conversation. These types of things come across as rude and suggest that you are uninterested in the person and conversation.

Embrace opportunities to meet new people. The best way to make new friends and expand your social circle is to say yes to new opportunities to meet others. Accept invitations to parties and social gatherings, take trips to new places, and talk to strangers in cafes, on the bus, at school, on airplanes, etc.

  • While meeting strangers may seem intimidating, think of it this way: if you don’t know them to begin with, then you really have nothing to lose if things don’t work out. On the other hand, you never know when a stranger can turn into your new best friend, business partner, or love interest!

Initiate interactions. If you are constantly waiting around for people to call you or invite you places, then you are wasting your life. Relationships are built upon a mutual effort; if you want to show people that you value their friendship, you will have to reach out to them and initiate opportunities to spend time with them.

  • Keep in touch with friends, even if you don’t live in the same town. Pick up the phone and call them, send them a text, or e-mail them asking how they’ve been.

TIPS

  • Remember to try to always be yourself and not somebody you are not.
  • Remember to smile and say hello to anyone you pass. It will help break the barriers, make you stick out in their mind and encourage them to come talk to you later on.
  • Being social does not necessarily mean being friends with everybody. It’s impossible to please everybody, and it is more rewarding to have a small circle of close, meaningful friends than to have a hundred mediocre, superficial friends.
  • Being positive has a good impact on others.
  • If you feel like you don’t get enough social interaction, then consider picking up a new hobby, joining a local club or sports team, or volunteering. Be sure to choose something that involves interacting with others.
  • It is best to keep your personal views such as religion, politics, abortion, etc out of the conversation unless the person you are talking with is genuinely interested. Even then, try to keep your extreme point of views to yourself. These topics rarely lead to a pleasant conversation.

A random post on a random rainy night like this

Hello my blog,

Passed my Final theory trial test today!!!
Anyway for your info from now onwards, whenever you want to book the actual FTT you have to go through a round of practice and passed the trial test before you can book for the actual test! Haiz, such a waste of time and money ...
Anyhow I scored 50/50 for the trial test but the actual FTT is on 16 OCT !!! I guess I need another round of revision by then!

Spent half of my day travelling all the way to woodland's driving circuit for the practices and finished the 4 sessions ( lol , I was kiasu so I practice 3 times before doing the trial test:p) around 4 30pm and timing swee swee, shuttle bus came 10 mins later and I started my damn long train ride to orchard to collect my piece of stone.

I was so lucky to have a seat and had a really gd 30 mins ?? Sleep.

Okay, here's the stone(:
It's was a shame that I know nth about it (the cut, the grade and etc...) but at least now I know that my ring is size 5 !

The internet is terrible... I can't watch my drama at all and that's why you see me blogging useless stuff here... Perhaps I should just  hit the sack earlier tonight. The bed is extra comfy especially on rainy days like tat right!?

Signing off.

Family  Trip  to  Bintan ( 04 July - 06 July 2014)

Wasn't really idling during the month of June after I quitted my Job. In fact, my life was busy with many other personal stuff which I had missed out earlier.

I  finally registered in SSDC for my driving course, helped up in a tuition centre as an art and craft teacher, started moving my ass to do some exercise and more....
Without even noticing, here come JULY.
Looking back at my old photo album, I realized that I had most of my overseas trip planned in July... seems like July will be a special month for me from now onwards. Teeheee...

Ok so ever since my family members know that I m quitting, both my sisters suggested that we ought to  have our family trip again. The Last family trip which we had was to BKK (also in july 2013).
After much discussions and concern, we decided our destination - BINTAN.

Details : Nirwana Garden - Nirwana Beach Club Resort

Because my mum doesn't want to spend too much on the trip, so we choose the beach club resort of Nirwana Gardens. The Outlook of the resort is more like Kampong and More to the mother nature.
However, as we are under the group of Nirwana Gardens, we have free access to all other luxurious resorts and facilities. Not that bad afterall, after having the "Xian qi" look at the first sight of our resort, the bed and toilet was quite comfy and clean. I m the kind of person who cares a lot on the cleanliness of toilet... so this one is still above average. (cuz I dared to step inside bare feet)

Enough of boring talks, lets see what kind of "bo xim" photos which I had take during our 3D2N stay in Bintan (:

our humble kampong resort 's neighbourhood

while this was taken on the 2nd day... Emma Asking for Banana

Performances at the dinning place

Beach Selfie

after countless jumps....

On the 2nd day we decided to have a dip in the pool before we head out for the mangrove swamp boat tour

'
The boat tour took about 1 hour... and maybe we are not so lucky as the animals we saw were like less that 10. -.-

Dinner at the Kelong

So these photos pretty sums up what happened during our 3D2N bintan trip...Maybe to most people this is not even a great vacation. b
But, time spent with family is always the best. Don't wait till your parents are too old to stepout of the house right... !!!

Hope there's more to come in the near future.. (:

Long vacation

Dear blog,

How have you been? It's been ages since I last logged in here.
Oh Well, guess it's time to vacuum the dust & cobweb and start blogging again 7/7/2014 ( such a gd date to remember)!
Put aside the dusting part, I  believe those of you who are closer to me would already know that I had recently left my previous job! Ok, not really recently. It's been one freaking month! How time flies!

I m a free loader at home now !@#$%^&**
Hahaha, don't take it seriously okay!! I am still giving  my mommy the monthly allowance despite me not having income anymore.
.... looking really upset when I see my money in bank account declining each day !!!!! My hard earned money............ All the blood and sweat plus tears.......  * wipe off my tears and continue blogging*

In case you guys were wondering how I have been doing all these while and what am I going to do after I left my previous job.

Point no. 1
I am  physically fine... Healthy and fighting ... Perhaps getting a bit more 肥 as compared to the last time you saw me??? * self assumed* . I am proud to announced that I weigh 42.5 kg now! Whahaha .. Like finally ..... I have been stucked in 39-40 kg body for so many years. Anyway, my height is 162 cm, so if you ask me what's my ideal weight ? I would say 44-45kg? Anything beyond that, I guess I might suffer from mental breakdown for一发不可收拾 and being too fat.

Okay, point no. 2
Yup, I left my job due to some personal reason which I would not like to share ( dont bother asking me too) and also because I wanted to take this opportunity to take a short break.

In any case that you people thought I am those kind who sits in office and shake legs, I am not.  When it comes to work, I become a workaholic.  I am also super stubborn - yeah that's the famous traits for being a Taurus. Okay, I might be dumb in a way too. In order to meet my targeted date lines, I can worked over office hours  until a point of time that I really cannot Tahan then I stopped. Sometimes because of 死爱面子or 太有骨气,when I am angry I will purposely do more and do it myself to prove or show people that even if you don't help, I can also do it!

But I am getting old ( sad.... ) and was tired of having OT . At times when I m over stressed, I Could easily drown myself with the tears I shed or worst still,  getting angry and thought to myself  " what the hell am I doing? Why am I wasting so much of my youth , OT -ing my life away! When everyone around me is shouting " YOLO YOLO"
( is this a valid reason for taking a break????)

I couldn't say I dislike being an engineer ( totally).
After all, I  had fun and learnt a lot from the past 4 years. ( just that my gold fish memory made me forget things that I learnt way too fast)
I too have  the "sense of satisfaction and pride " for being an engineer.
Especially, when I get complete one submission or whenever I gave the QP tonnes of AC comments in RED. Hahaha I know, sound like some sadist. But, maybe I just enjoy pointing out people's mistake??? One site engineer once told me that I m too meticulous in work.

IN CONCLUSION, I like the job but still lack of passion. Er.... the passion of becoming a professional engineer??? Maybe a more sengnang ( relaxing ) engineering job will be great??? Hahaha my wishful thinking...

I am just like a 无头苍蝇  flying here and there searching for " I don't know what I m searching" but still dying to find something

Seriously, wtf* right?

Anyway, WISH ME LUCK ..... Luck in everything!

-.- a super blur picture taken by my ex colleague showing off to me that he has taken over my old seat.  And his caption for the photo was " your work desk  is a history"  -.-"""""

Good bye my work station for the pass 4 years (:  I will find another good one someday sometime...
